The 10 Commandments
The 10 commandments are divided into two parts: the first part shows us how to Love Jah and the other part shows us how to love our neighbour. The Law of the Most High is summed up in the word Love. Love is summed up in these two commands - thou shalt love the Adonay thy Jah with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might, this is the first commandment (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Mark 12:29-30).
And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang All the law and the prophets (Matthew 22:39-40).
There are about 613 laws in the Law of JAH. These laws can be found in the first 5 books of the Old Testament. The whole 10 commandments is summed up in the one word Love. The 10 commandments can be found in the book of Exodus chapter 20.
To love the Master our Jah as the Messiah stated, we must keep the commandments (Mark 12:29-31). The first 4 commandments shows us how to love Jah and the last 6 commandments shows us how to love our neighbour. The first 4 commands spell out what is acceptable to our Great King in our worship towards Him. Millions of people think that to love our Creator is to love our neighbor only, but that is the second of the 2 great commands that was stated by our Saviour. So we must beware that we don't fall into the trap of confusion when it comes to this biblical fundamental.
First, to love him, we would not have any other gods but the True Jah and Only Sustainer of Life, do you agree? many will. In addition to this we must believe our Jah, listen to Him and obey Him. In doing this we must observe the Sabbaths and Festivals that were given to Israel and that were kept by Paul, the Apostles, and of course the Messiah. You can read more about the Festivals on the FESTIVALS OF JAH page.
Secondly, to show our love for Him, Jah said that we should not bow down and worship idols of wood, stone, or anything that is in the earth, the sea, or in heaven, most would agree here, but there are countless millions that do this, albeit they even do it in the name of the Saviour.
Thirdly, we should not take the name of our Creator in vain, meaning, we should not use his name as a curse word or even call out His name without reason, nor falsify His name. Some even say we should not even use a name that is incorrect and a distortion of His true name. However, whatever name we recognize the Mighty and Lofty One according to the knowledge that one has, should be reverenced as Holy and Sanctified. Many will dispute this fact.
Fourthly, we are commanded to keep the Sabbath day Holy. Now here is where there starts to be some debate and uneasiness amongst Christians. The command goes on to show us what day is the Sabbath day, and as Scripture so plainly tells us, it is the 7th day. You can be sure that there will be many who disagree with this commandment that shows us how to Love the Adonay our Jah. The Sabbath doctrine will be discussed more thoroughly in our MASTER OF THE SABBATH PAGE.
The 7th day Sabbath begins on the evening of what we now call Friday and continues for 24 hours until the evening of the day we call Saturday. There are many studies done on the Sabbath issue that one can find in the world, my advice is to check it up if you are not aware about this prolific Scripture Basic.
These first four commandments (that were written in STONE) map out clearly what we should do to Love our Master with all of our heart.
To love our neighbor is what most religions teach. To love our neighbor we will have to keep the last 6 of the 10 commandments. The teaching of this command is echoed in almost every church or denomination of some kind. Oh, don't get me wrong, this commandment is vitally important, and as stated earlier, it is the 2nd of the 2 great commands of our Saviour. As a matter of fact if you read the very popular "Sermon on the mount" chapters (read Matthew chapters 5 to 8) you will see that the Messiah lifted these 6 commandments to a High level, He magnified the Law (Isaiah 42:21). He even made the intent of the heart in regards to the law, binding. Many would have it seem that He freed people from the Law, but in fact He made it much tighter and stricter. Even the thoughts and lack of actions are now binding to us humans.
To love our neighbor we would not dishonor our parents, murder, commit adultery with our neighbor's spouse, steal, lie, or covet our neighbor's belongings. We would neither hate, curse others within ourselves, lust, or neglect the poor and needy.
If we keep the commandments, then we are well on the path to righteousness. We cannot be partial in the law (Malachi 2:9). We must keep the 2 great commandments.
Now the problem is that there are many (practically all of so-called Christianity) that promote, teach, and mislead others to believe that Jahoshawah abolished the Law at the cross. This is a grievous error that Satan is forwarding with force. And the only basis for this distorted and wicked understanding is with 2 or 3 verses that are found in the epistles of the great Messiahn Saul. Christian leaders around the world distort Saul's words. I feel they have not read the warning from Peter in regards to the wisdom put forth by Paul.
Take note- 2 Peter 3:15-17- And account (consider) that the longsuffering of our Adonay is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom (insight) given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest (pervert), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
By no means is the Law put away, as a matter of fact the Son of the Most High Jah, Jahshuwah of Nazareth, clearly said "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. (Matthew 5:17-18).
Keep these few facts in mind in regards to these words, the heavens and the earth (the universe) are still here, and that means the law is still here. The wages of sin is death, and sin, by the Scriptures definition, is 'transgression of the law' (1 John 3:4).
