The Creator's Name - Part 2
THE NAMES "JAH" AND "JAHOSHUWAH".
The names of the MAKER and His Ben (Son).
This article is just an introductory to the reason why we use the Name JAH for the Maker of the Universe. You will notice throughout this website that there will be many other points of emphasis that we will present as to why the names "JAH" and "JAHOSHUWAH" are the names of the Abbah (Father) and the Ben (Son).
If you have come this far, then you may already be aware of the controversy with the name of the Abbah and the name of His Ben. It has been hot. Many people have taken issue with us in regards to our use of "JAH" AND "JAHOSHUWAH" and this article intends to shed some light on this issue and present somewhat of an explanation on why we use the letter "J" as opposed to the "letter Y" when referring to the Creator's name.
Many people feel through scholarly studies (ie. encyclopedias, some dictionaries, and many commentaries) that the Most High's name should not be spelled with the "letter J" and that we should use the names that have been forwarded through the so-called "Hebraic studies". My intent is not to build division but to 'throw down' the walls of division that have been built up by the false studies and doctrines of the enemies of the Most High.
If the reader is not already aware, there has been a perpetuation of using the invention of the CAPITAL letter “J” to argue that the name “JAH” is not the Abbah's Name. Hopefully this article will give you a few things to consider in this area.
Yes it's true that the capital letter "J" came into the English Alphabet in the 1500's, but what the professed scholars, teachers and preachers of the religious world don't let the common people know is that the letter that carried the "J-sound" before the invention of it was the letter "I" or "i".
So the point that is being highlighted here is that the letter "I" or "i" carried the "J-sound" before the invention of the capital or lowercase letter "J - j". There is a minor emphasis on the "CAPITAL" because there is a difference between the time periods of the invention of the English "lower case 'j'" and the "capital 'J'". This will be discussed throughout the website.
Did you know that the letter “i” symbol in lowercase and the letter “j” in lower case were invented almost 900 years ago? About 1200 AD the lowercase “i” was tweaked at the bottom to distinguish between the vowel “i” sound the consonant “j” sound……..
....You see, when they (they being those who had command of the English language at that time) used the symbols "I" or "i" it carried 2 different sounds, either a vowel or hard consonant. So at times when they used words like "eye, ivory, guilty, enmity," they would spell it like "eie, ivorie, guiltie, enmitie". This is the vowel usage along with other common words like: "light, thirty, their, believe etc." and many more in which the letter "i" is used as a vowel.
But when the symbol "i" or "I" was used in the early development of the pagan-borrowing language English, it was also mainly used as a consonant and was and 'is' used to bring about the consonantal affricative "J-sound". In other words the letters or symbols "I" and "i" preserved the consonantal "J-sound."
Below is a chart of some common words that are in the original 1611 King James Version of the Scriptures that begin with the letter "I" or "i" and a comparison to what we use and pronounce today. Also included is the usage of the word if the letter "i" in consonant use was to be the letter "y" instead of "j", of which you will see it wasn't.

As you can see, the usage and sound that the symbols of "I" or "i" were used to distinguish the consonantal "J-sound" from the various vowel sounds. The only thing that happened was that the symbols "I" and "i" were tweaked at the bottom to distinguish between the vowel usage and the hard "consonantal J-sound" usage.
So the symbol: "I", became the symbol: "J" and the lowercase "i" was tweaked to be the lower case "j" to distinguish and make the reader and writers of English understand which type of sound to give to the "I" or "i", vowel or consonantal usage.
The equivalent to the letter "I" or "i" in the Hebrew language is "Jod". Many say it's "yod" because there is no "J-sound" but the "J-sound" really is the consonant "I" sound, it gets very confusing.
SOME WORDS ON THE LETTER "Y"
The letter “Y” came in barely 200 years before letter "J", in the late 1300's! So what's the point of stating that the letter "J" came into the English language in the 1500's? Most letters of English are of modern origin anyway; But they got their sounds from the ancient languages.
What I'm saying is that many people seem to ignore these facts about the letter "Y" but want to show cause in the "J" area and yet the letter "Y" is also suspect. And for that matter the letter “w” was used 200 years after the first symbol “j”!!
Thus, although we don't use the name “Jehovah” in our writings, I have seen the same argument using the invention of the letter "J" used to try and discredit the spelling “Jehovah” and "Jesus" (which are both erroneous anyway) when even more strongly the same arguement can be used against “Yahweh” because the letters “a” and “h” were not invented until the 1500's as well.
The whole “name issue" really is confusion and is twisted and corrupted. But I won't shoot down any other spellings or pronunciations too much right now because the whole name issue has gotten out of hand lately amongst professed believers.
The proof of when the letters “Y, S, A, and H” were invented also shows that the spelling of “Yahweh” was impossible before the 1500's. The same thing could be used against “Yahshua” as well because the lowercase “s” was not invented until the 1500's also. The lowercase “s” was not in full use until the 1500's but was just being introduced (they commonly used the symbol "f") as in words like: "Genefis (Genesis), Pfalmes (Psalms) and tefitmonie (testimony)".
The lowercase “u” did not come into regular use as a vowel until the 1500's either, that is why you will find words such as: "unto" - spelled: "vnto", or "under" -spelled: "vnder"; check these and many more words for yourself.
The point being made is that spellings of “Yahweh or Yahshua” were impossible before that time in the 1500's as well! You had no "s, h, u" to spell it that way, but this is not my main point, because this is not a treatise about spellings, I'm exhorting the notion about SOUNDS.
The truth of the matter is that the invention of the letters of the English alphabet neither proves nor disproves the pronunciation of the Abbah's name. It is the sounds that they carry that are important. And if that is what we have to go by, then we have a very solid case and good evidence to show cause in our usage of "JAH".
So although the rest of the world attempt to drown out the Abbah's name and supplant it by using the notion of the invention of the English alphabet in later centuries, the fact is the “SOUNDS” that they represent existed from Ancient Times. Only the SYMBOLS used to represent the sounds changed.
In the original 1611, all names that we use a "J" with today were written with a capital letter "I" and yet the sound was still pronounced like our "J-sound today", nothing changed except the letter to represent the "J-sound." So it's like saying the ancient consonantal "i" or "I" sound was and is the "J-sound." THE "J-SOUND" IS ANCIENT.
So the name that we use "JAH" which can be seen in Psalms 68:4, was spelled "IAH" in the original 1611. But it would never be pronounced "YAH" because the "I" carried the consonantal usage and not the vowel usage, especially before another vowel. Remember this fact.
And as well, the letters "iah" that you see at the end of names like: Isa-iah, Jerem-iah, Obad-iah and Zechariah etc. are to pronounced according to the rules of usage like:
Jahsajah or Jisajah (Isaiah), Jahremijah or Jahremjah (Jeremiah), Obadjah (Obadiah) and Zecharjah (Zechariah).
You can also find many names that begin with a letter "I" and yet they can be found to also begin with the letter "J":
Israel is "Jisrael" which we know and translate to be "Jahzrael" - Isaac is Jisaac or Jahsaac - Issachar is Jissachare or Jahssachar, Ephraim is Ephrajahm...for reference for the usage of the "J" when the name begins with a "I" you can use a "Strong's Concordance."
Strong's concordance is just a tool that can be utilized to get further understandings about the usage of the ancient language. But as with every thing we must use it to the Standard of Jah's words.
Even the "Je" and "Jo" at the beginning of certain proper names and places still carry the "Jah" sound when you really get into things:
Josiah is "Jahsijah or Jahsjah" - Jehoshaphat is "Jahoshaphat" - Joshua is "Jahshuwah" - Jehoram is Jahoram - Jordan is Jahrdon - and many many more.
You can also find many names in the Scriptures that begin with "Jah" and end with "Jah":
"Jahaziel, Jahleel, Jahazah - Malchijah, Elijah, Abijah, Urijah, etc.
"JAH'S" NAME will be-used-by-and-be-upon His people and city forever.
A BLACK LANGUAGE
The English language is nothing but a borrowing language, and in saying that, it never invented the "J-sound" they preserved and borrowed it: and they borrowed and preserved it from a language called "Jebrew/Hebrew" which always had that "J-sound" that we still use today.
These ancient people of the Scriptures that we identify as "Jebrew/Hebrew or Jahzraelite (Israelite)" were all black people of which we Scripturally identify as "Ethiopians".
Ethiopia means "black" and "Ethiopian" means "black or original person (Sheep - wooly haired)" as opposed to "Gentile (Goat - straight haired) person.
The country and people that people call today "Ethiopia" is not the "Ethiopia" spoken of in the Scriptures. The land "Ethiopia" is a huge land mass or continent, it includes "modern Africa and the Middle East"; Ethiopia isn't one particular country like we have been taught, it's not true, you can check this out for yourself.
The use of the words "Ethiopia or Ethiopian" does not translate or refer to the tribe of Cush/Kuwsh, whom is a son of Ham, that the scholarly world professes. That is not true. When you look deep into the territories and people of the Scriptures that ever bore the title or name Ethiopian, you will see that Ethiopians are not only Hamites like the world says but that Shemites also bore the name or title of Ethiopians as well. You can read our other articles on these topics.
The reason I bring this up is to make you aware that the world ruling Gentiles also know that the word "Ethiopia" is a broad word describing all black people in general and that this whole charade of the country called Ethiopia and the falasha jew/beta yisrael thing is designed to keep back the truth about black people, Ethiopian people.
This is why we call the Scriptural Israelites "Ethiopian-Jahzraelites" in our writings; because the true Israelites were black people separated from the black race. And we say "JAHzraelites/JAHsraelites" because JAH IS THE MAKER'S NAME and He said His people would have His name. Remember that JAH changed "JAHCOB'S" name to "JAHSRAEL". His Heavenly city is "JAHOSHALOM" (Jah's city of Peace).
The true Jebrew/Jahbrew/Hebrew language is a black language, it is an "Ethiopian language", of which the adversary wants to keep in the background while he forwards his pollutions of this ancient Hamitic-Shemitic language.
Abraham never brought the Hebrew language to Canaan. He inherited it from the people of the land.
The land of Canaan was composed of the Hittites, Jebusites, Girgasites, Perisites. Arba, who is also called "Mamre", is also 'Hebron' the place of dwelling among the Hebronites who are also called "Amorites" whom are also known as the children of Heth, they all spoke Hebrew in the land of Canaan before Abram got there.
The Scriptures let us know that Hebrew is "the language of Canaan."
Isaiah 19:18 -[ 18] In that day shall five cities in the land of Egypt speak the language of Canaan, and swear to the JAH of hosts; one shall be called, The city of destruction.
We have well researched the tantamount of lies that have been flooding the world with regards to the name issue that everyone seems to adhere to…….
I will let you know that the whole "J-sound" thing (saying there is no J-sound in the Hebrew), isn't true and we have been hoodwinked by these evil scholars ………. but that is how the people want it.
We must be very aware of the devices that the heathen's have put forward to attempt to take away JAH'S name…….as I said before, we are not ignorant of these devices……..
So bear in mind that the letter "Y" may have been invented before the J, but that holds no water for the argument regarding how the name should be pronounced or enunciated. The name was written with a "I" before there was any "Y" and the "I" preserved the "J-sound."
TAKING A LOOK AT THE ORIGINAL 1611
When you look at the original 1611 for instance, it is astonishing at the use of the letters and sounds they represent today.......and what I'm saying is, the J-sound has been preserved throughout it with the use of the letter “i”......and the use of the letter Y is very clear also.
As was hinted to earlier on, many words in the 1611 such as: Iordan or Ierusalem, IAH,......should be pronounced Jordan, Jerusalem and JAH, and not Yordan, Yerusalem or Yah.......the same with common words like: iourney, iudge, and reioyce......today they are clearly pronounced journey, judge, and watch this - r-e-j-o-i-c-e.
Notice in the original 1611 that the word "reioice" uses an "i" where the "j" is today, but also notice that the letter "Y" in "reioyce" is clearly used for the vowel sound of "i", hence we have rejoice today....the usage of “y” is suspect to say the least.
And as well, please tell those scholars, teachers and preachers out there that say there is no letter J in the original 1611 to stop forwarding that huge lie, because it is in there many times....both as a lower case "j" and capital "J"....
.....I have heard and read it on practically everyone's site that says the name should be spelled with a Y or the websites that proclaim the sacred name issue and that there in no J in the original 1611.....everyone!!
Some even have gone on TV and held up the book and exclaimed that there is no letter J in there.............and it is.......why is everyone hating on the J???.....Even the professed Hebrew Israelites forward this falsehood with much force..........I know why, but I'll leave that for another time.
THERE ARE “J's” IN THE 1611
Here are the many instances where the actual letter "J" is in the original 1611 version when many people claim it isn't, you will enjoy this enlightenment if you get an original 1611.
You will also notice the differences in some of the usages of various letters. These following quotes are word for word from the original 1611 with the words that have "J's" in them bolded.
As well we have put [square brackets] around the name "Jah" because that is where the 1611 uses the words "the LORD" or "God".

So they went downe to Bethel. 4: And Elijah said vnto him, Elisha, tarie here, I pray thee: for [JAH] hath sent me to Iericho: And hee said, As [JAH] liueth, and as thy soule liueth, I will not leaue thee. So as you can see from these verses the letter "J" is in the 1611 when everyone has been saying that it isn't for FAR TOO LONG........
Not only that, but most times that we see this letter "J" in the 1611 is when it is used with the name "jah" at the end of these various names (Tobijah, Elijah, Malchijah etc.).
So the evidence shows that we have the name and spelling "jah" in the original 1611 in there but nowhere is there any other name for the Most High starting with the letter "Y". A very cunningly orchestrated scheme.
.....but really this is just the beginning of this confusion of which we in Zion endeavour to eliminate.....however, let us "Fear JAH and keep His commandments, for this is our duty......
The name and spelling of JAH that we use (Psalms 68:4 KJV), means “Eternal One” or “Self Existing”. This rendering is good and is Etymologically correct.
JAHOSHUWAH means "JAH'S SALVATION or JAH IS THE SAVIOUR".
I'll leave it at these last few words because the attempts by the modern scholars and teachers to discredit the name "JAH" with the world's scholastic grindstones of men will not be able to hide the Most High's name......
Really I don't like getting into the name thing because it can cause strife and division, although this division can be seen as sanctification in the use of the Abbah's name.......through experience I know that many people take issue with us at the Mount Zion Assembly in regards to the name JAH and miss the whole point of the doctrine we expound.
Let us bear in mind that to set your love upon the Creator is to obey Him...
John 15:10 - If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
1 John 2:3-6 -And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. v4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. v5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of JAH perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. v6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
To know the Almighty's name is far more than just knowing that His name is Jah; or that His Son's name is Jahoshuwah.
To know the Almighty's name means to LOVE and OBEY His will, His laws; to want to be like Him - Holy as He is Holy.
In short, to know the Abbah's name means to reflect His Character. It means to be meek, merciful, kind, patient, honest, just and good.
Millions of people profess to know the MAKER'S name: but keep in mind that even the devils know His name. But the devils don't really 'know JAH' in the true sense of the term; because they do not OBEY His law even though they KNOW what it says.
Nonetheless, the Holy One of Abraham, Isaac and Jahcob will, as He promised, set His love upon and deliver everyone who REALLY knows His Name and KEEPS His commandments. That is what Psalm 91 is all about, you should read it.
That is the fact we wish to experience in our lives and proclaim to others. Correct spellings and pronunciations of the various nouns will come in His time. As far as we are concerned, only those who reflect the Messijah's character really know his name.
Consequently we treat with utmost caution those who profess to know the Creator's Name.
To be sure they may think they know how to pronounce or spell it, some can even write it in the so-called Hebrew language: but alas! of those we have met and spoken to, many are strangers to His Holy Spirit and His Faithful obedience. They do not really know Him or love His Ben. They have a strange spirit that motivates them.
On the great Day of Judgement I am sure we will discover that many proclaimed believers that we have dismissed as being semi-pagans knowing little or nothing of Scripture and also ignorantly using the erroneous name Jesus, are in fact a lot more spiritually minded and productive than we may ever know. So let us all tread with care: and if I may offer a line of advice it would be this:
"Endeavour to demonstrate in your life - by your character - that you really know the Name of the Creator: that is, that you know Him and His righteousness! whom to know is life eternal."
You are come unto Mount Zion, and unto the City of the living JAH, the Heavenly Jahoshalem, and to an innumerable company of Angels, To the General Assembly and the Body of the Firstborn, which are written in Heaven, and to JAH the Judge of all, and to the spirits of Just men made perfect, And to Jahshuwah the Mediator of the New Covenant, and to the Blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.
Many people since ancient times may hate Zion but it is of no surprise….
Psa. 129:5 - Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
Isaiah 29:8 - It shall even be as when an hungry man dreameth, and, behold, he eateth; but he awaketh, and his soul is empty: or as when a thirsty man dreameth, and, behold, he drinketh; but he awaketh, and, behold, he is faint, and his soul hath appetite: SO SHALL THE MULTITUDE OF ALL THE NATIONS BE, THAT FIGHT AGAINST MOUNT ZION.
None of us here of the Zion Assembly have degrees of any kind in any secular scholastic babylonial (University) studies.
As I think about the prophets, patriarchs and apostles of old, I thought about their qualifications to do the Messiah's work: Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joshua, Gideon, King David, Elijah, Elisha, Jeremiah, John the Baptist, Matthew, Mark, Peter, James, John and the other disciples, not forgetting the Saviour himself.
Although we are not educated by man, it doesn't mean that every wind of doctrine will blow us away or move us, but on the contrary, we are established on the ROCK and will continue to exhort with the sincere word of Truth. We do not teach by the rudiments of the world but by the Holy Spirit of Truth. And since it was by the Holy Spirit that men were inspired to write the Scriptures it can only be the Holy Spirit that is able to interpret Scriptures.
Do we need to put our nose down to Babylon's educational/scholastic grindstone to be approved of men, is that what these role models of Scripture did, were they “taught by the world and it's man made books: What do the Scriptures teach?
Even the Apostles and the Messijah were said to be men who weren't educated by their surrounding societal system…
John 7:15 - And the Jews marveled, saying, How knoweth this man (the Messiah) letters, having never learned?
Act 4:13 - Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were UNLEARNED AND IGNORANT MEN, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jahoshuwah.
The words of the prophet Amos also come to mind:
Amos 7:14 - "Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:"
We believe we are in good company with these Saints!!
