THE FESTIVALS OF JAH
In the world today, we can see that many different religions have various times in which they celebrate many different occasions. In the world there are 3 main monotheistic religions (religions believing in one Creator), Judaism, Christianity and Muslim (Islam). These religions have days that they celebrate, as very important to their beliefs. I will not be discussing their different religious days, but will touch on the western or Christian celebrations.
The Festivals of Satan
The Christians call their festive days of celebration “Holidays”. Jah calls His festivals “Holy days”. It is easy to see right from here the mimicry that Christianity has portrayed in regards to their holidays and Jah's holy days.
Something we should try to understand is that the evil one Satan is always trying to appear and be like Jah, and that he is always trying to mimic the Maker's way of worship. For every aspect of doctrine that the Most High has, the wicked one has a counterfeit.
Jah has His holy Sabbath (7th day - Saturday), Satan has his counterfeit Sabbath (1st day - Sunday).
Jah has His Ethiopian (Black) Hebrew Messijah; Lucifer has his false Gentile Messiah.
Jah has His holy prophets and the devil has his false prophets.
Jah with His Holy festivals; and the dragon has his holiday festivals.
For every holy thing that JAH has, you can be sure that Satan has his counterfeits, to try and match up with the Holy One.
There are many other days that Christianity commemorates, but we will stick with the main holidays. Their major feasts are Christmas, Easter, New Year, Halloween and Thanksgiving.
Christmas supposedly commemorates the birth of the Son of the Most High.
New Year celebrates the beginning of the Gregorian calendar year.
Good Friday and Easter supposedly commemorate the death and resurrection of the Saviour.
Halloween (the holy eve) celebrates their so-called dead saints of the past.
Thanksgiving is the time that Christians give thanks for the harvest.
The above festivals are celebrated with rejoicing, big meals, gift giving and receiving, large gatherings and days off work. These times are considered as Holy times for the western Christian world. The streets and stores are dressed up. Festive music is playing on the radios. TV is loaded with shows and commercials that are in the seasonal mood. People have festive phrases and greetings; every one is encouraged to get into the spirit of the season. But alas, is the spirit of the season that of holiness or the spirit of evil?
There are countless books, articles, and writings about the falsehood of the Christian festivals. You can be sure by now that those who even pay devout homage to these celebrations have heard that these festivals are pagan and void of holiness. Does that stop them? Not in any way do they give up these traditions.
They can study for themselves and get all kind of proofs, but still year after year, more and more people join themselves to these festivals. Some even give the vain effort to, as they say, to “put Christ back into Christmas.” Little do they know that the true Messijah Jahoshawah, whom they erroneously call `Jesus Christ', had nothing to do with this heathen custom. And by the way, the Saviour is Black not Greek.
Numerous tracts have been written that it was impossible for the Saviour to be born in the dead of winter, and that sheep don't graze in the winter; the Christian world knows these things. They know that from Friday to Sunday cannot amount up to 3 days in the grave (3 days and nights to be exact). They know how to count.
They know that Halloween, and its morbid mood of death should not be observed by adults much less children. They know about the worship of the sun and its tie to much of their worship. They are aware about the impossibilities of rabbits laying eggs. They know that the word EASTER is a mistranslation into the Scriptures. They know that the Messijah observed and was crucified on the Passover.
You can be sure that all the studying you and I have done on these festivals, the leaders and heads of the thousands of denominations in Christendom have also done as well, and even more. They have access to many resources that the layman like myself could never get, and if I was to get these things, the price could well be too expensive. Not only do they have the resources but, they have the time. What I mean is, they are paid to study, and it is their occupation. I get paid as well, but not in this time and my pay is eternal. You get the point, I hope.
These leaders of the earth and many churches, denominations and religions are confederates against Jah and His anointed Ben (Son) Jahoshuwah (Psalm 2:1-3). They have framed mischief by a law (Psalm 94:20).
You see this is what has happened; the devil, who is very cunning, has over the centuries, inserted his doctrines, he has controlled many high-ranking men and has deceived the people of the earth (Revelation 12:9).
Now after these many centuries these festivals and doctrines are embedded in the hearts of millions of people. They don't have the nature of Jah but they have a rebellious nature. Even when I ask them why they keep their festivals, many agree that they are not Scripturally founded but they say that its “what is in the heart is what matters” or “we only do it for the kids.” What ends up happening is that the children grow up and continue in the same footsteps of their parents, heaping lies upon lies.
Now as earlier said, Satan has his festivals and Jah has His. It is important that we notice how the world holds their festivals in high regard, with little or no regard for the festivals of Jah. Festival keeping is very important to ones religion. It identifies morals that are presented in the given belief. It keeps the many followers in tune with each other and brings a unity in worship. It helps calculate time, seasons and years for the believers. Festivals are tied to every religion and form a major part of worship.
So why has the Christian world ignored the Most High's festivals that are in the Scriptures? Many people don't even know that there are festivals that are to be observed in the Scriptures. I find this quite disturbing due to the fact that many have the Holy Scriptures in their possession. It may decorate their home or collect dust. But the so-called religious people of the world use the Scriptures often and still are in ignorance or denial in regards to the Scriptural (Biblical) festivals.
Jah's Times of Holiness and Convocations
The Festivals of Jah are fixed or set (cannot be moved) festivals. The festivals of Jah can be found in the Old Covenant (Testament), beginning in Exodus.
In Leviticus chapter 23, we are given the list of Festivals to be observed. Many people feel that these festivals were done away with by the Messijah on the cross but this is not true. We will see later that even the Apostles kept the feasts of Jah.
There are seven annual festivals of the Most High:
Passover or Unleavened Bread (One and the same festival)
Sheaf
Pentecost, (First-Fruits or Feast of Weeks)
Trumpets
Day of Atonement
Tabernacles or Ingathering
The 8th Day (The Last Great day)
The Sabbath
(Exodus 20:8-11) (every 7th day)
“Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour and work; but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Adonay (Master) thy Jah: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, daughter, manservant, maidservant, cattle nor thy stranger within thy gates: For in six days the Adonay made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Adonay blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.”
This occurs every week on the 7th day. This is one of the most important times for the followers of the Messijah. To get more thorough information on the Sabbath read the article on the Sabbath.
The Passover
(Exodus 12:1-30; 23:15; Leviticus 23:5-8; Numbers 28:16; Deuteronomy 16:1-8 )
In the fourteenth day of the first month Abib at evening is the Adonay's Passover. The fourteenth day at evening is the beginning of the fifteenth day, and on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of Unleavened Bread unto the Adonay. The Passover and Unleavened Bread are one and the same feast. Seven days you must eat unleavened bread. In the first day ye shall have a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein, and in the seventh day it is a holy convocation ye shall do no servile work therein.
This occurs once a year in the first month, Abib. It lasts for 7 days. NEW COVENANT (TESTAMENT) SCRIPTURES: (Matthew 26:17-30; Mark 14:12-26; Luke 22:7-20; 1 Corinthians 5:4-8; 11:23-34; Acts 12:1-4.)
The Sheaf
(Leviticus 23:9-14)
“ When you come into the land which Jah gives unto you and shall reap the harvest thereof, then shall you bring a sheaf of firstfruits of your harvest unto the priest and he shall wave the sheaf before the Adonay, to be accepted for you.”
This shall start the count of 50 days or 7 weeks until the feast of Firstfruits. It occurs on the first day of the week; the day after the 7th day of unleavened bread.
NOTE: This is not a day of rest or an annual Sabbath, but it is a day that is to be observed for the count to Pentecost. To learn more about the spiritual meaning of the waving of the Sheaf, read the book “THE REVELATION OF JAH'S CALENDAR”.
Pentecost (First-fruits or Feast of Weeks)
Leviticus 23:15-21; Numbers 28:26-31; Deuteronomy 16:9-12
“And ye shall count unto you from the morrow after the Sabbath, from the day that ye brought the sheaf of the wave offering: seven Sabbaths (weeks) must be complete: and thou shalt keep the feast of weeks unto the Adonay thy Jah with a tribute of a freewill offering of thine hand, which thou shalt give according as the Adonay thy Jah hath blessed thee: and thou shalt rejoice before the Adonay thy Jah. On the day of firstfruits after your weeks be out ye shall have and holy convocation and ye shall do no servile work.”
This occurs once a year in the third month, Sivan. It lasts for 1 day. NEW COVENENANT SCRIPTURES: (Acts 2:1-13; 1 Corinthians 16:8.)
Trumpets
(Leviticus 23:24-25; Numbers 29:1-6)
“And in the seventh month, on the first day of the month, ye shall have an holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work: it is a day of blowing the trumpets unto you.”
This occurs once a year in the 7th month Ethanim. It lasts for one day. To find out more about the feast of Trumpets read “The Revelation of Jah's Calendar”.
Day of Atonement
(Leviticus 17:29-34; 23:26-32; Numbers 29:7-11)
“Also on the tenth day of the seventh month there shall be a day of Atonement: it shall be an holy convocation unto you; and ye shall afflict (fast) your souls, and ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make and atonement for you before the Adonay your Jah. For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, shall be cut off from among his people. Ye shall not do any manner of work: It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest and ye shall afflict your souls.”
This occurs once a year in the 7th month Ethanim. It is for one day. NEW COVENANT SCRIPTURES: (Acts 27:9).
Tabernacles or Ingathering
(Exodus 23:16; Leviticus 23:34-43; Numbers 29:12-40; Deuteronomy 16:13-15; Zechariah 14:16-19)
“The fifteenth day of the seventh month at evening shall be the feast of Tabernacles for seven days unto the Adonay. On the first day shall be a holy convocation; ye shall do no servile work therein, and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath. And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast, thou and all that are within thy gates. Seven days shalt thou keep a solemn feast unto the Adonay thy Jah because the Adonay had made the children of Jahzrael (Israel) to dwell in booths (tabernacles) when I brought them out of the Land of Egypt.”
This occurs once a year in the 7th month Ethanim. It lasts for 7 days. To learn more about the spiritual meaning of Tabernacles read the book “The Revelation of Jah's Calendar”.
The Eighth Day or the Last Great Day
(Leviticus 23:36-39; Numbers 29:35; 1 Kings 8:66; 2 Chronicles 7:9-10)
“Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruits of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the Adonay seven days: on the first day shall be a Sabbath and on the eighth day shall be a Sabbath. On the eighth day ye shall have a solemn assembly (convocation), ye shall do no servile work therein.”
This is the Last and Great day of the festivals. This occurs once a year in the 7th month Ethanim. It lasts one day. It immediately follows the last seventh day of Tabernacles. NEW COVENANT SCRIPTURE: (John 7:37).
CONCLUSION
These are the feasts described in the Ethiopian Hebrew Scriptures (the Holy Bible). They must be kept by those who follow the teachings of the Messijah. These feasts are a part of our Salvation, and Jah is against those who do not take part in His Holy days. If we don't observe them we can be assured that Jah's wrath is impending upon us.
Those in Judaism keep some of these festivals, except that the Messijah Jahoshuwah has no part in their festivals because they deny the only begotten Ben (Son) of the Most High Jah.
Those in Islam don't keep any of Jah's feasts, but have supplanted them with their own festivities without the Messijah, and without JAH'S law.
Those in Christianity don't observe the festivals of Jah, therefore they follow their own hearts and man made traditions.
I am aware that there are Christians that observe the Scriptural feasts. However, many of them do so by following the ancient Babylonian luni-solar calendar that the “so-called” Jews have basically adopted. The calendar that they use is a luni-solar calendar with intercalary months added.
They keep the festivals at different times in the year than what Jah had set forth. Their festivals fall on different days throughout the years and vary. Jah's Feasts don't move; they fall on the same days throughout eternity, they are set or fixed feasts.
I hope that this will give a basic understanding to those who are zealous for the things of JAH.
To know what is the True Almenach (Calendar) and the appointed times for the Festivals of Jah, you will as I have said many times before, have to read the book - THE REVELATION OF JAH'S CALENDAR.
